The Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor destroyed the United States' vaunted battleship navy. Yet, the most powerful fleet the world had ever seen would rise from the ashes of December 7th. To man the submarines, cruisers and battleships that constituted this new flotilla, the U.S. Navy sought tens of thousands of recuits.
Featured on this DVD are six rare films used to both publicize the role of the Navy, and to attract volunteers for America's new fleet. See rare, pre-WWII and wartime footage rescued from forgotten archives and private collections, and learn about what it took to make it as a bluejacket in the 1940's.
Some of the films included are silent pictures with intertitles and historic music soundtracks.
B&W films. Run time: 99 minutes.
