In June of 1950, Communist forces from North Korea invaded the South, and led America and the United Nations into war. The epic battles that raged over the entire Korean peninsula lasted three years.
While U.S. forces were initially on the defensive, General MacArthur's surprise landing behind enemy lines at Inchon turned the tables on the Communists. The sweeping victory led to intervention by the Chinese, who invaded in the winter of 1950.
A stalemate eventually developed between the two sides, along the 38th Parallel. It remains the dividing line between the two Koreas to this day.
Featured on this DVD are five rare and historic films from Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force archives that chronicle the three year conflict from Pusan to Inchon and Chosin. Includes "38th Parallel", "Carrier Action off Korea", "Chosin to Hungnam" and "On to the Yalu", and "The Final Phase".
