In April of 1944, the U.S. Army's 1st Cavalry Division launched Operation Brewer, a campaign to seize the Admiralty Islands and isolate the Japanese naval base at Rabaul. The landings were one phase of a grand offensive that raged across the Pacific in 1944.

Featured on this DVD are six rare films showing some of the bloodiest battles of the campaign. See the 3rd Marine Division as it re-takes Guam. Watch a co-ordinated assault on the Palaus, as the 1st Marines and 81st Infantry Division seize Peleliu and Anguar.

Also included is a rare COLOR film narrated by Quentin Reynolds, entitled "Advance Base". An extremely graphic, unflinching portrait of the war, the film shows the activities of the Construction Battalions, or CBs. Deemed too disturbing for general release, the film was hidden from view for decades. It remains one of the most powerful, and important documents of the Pacific War.

Color + b&w films. Run time: 108 minutes.
