After the fall of France in 1940, Adolph Hitler turned his sights to Britain. Before an invasion could begin, the Royal Air Force would have to be destroyed. Hermann Goring believed the task would be simple, but he reckoned without valiant RAF.
Flying Hurricanes, Spitfires and other aircraft, R.A.F. pilots achieved a kill ratio of nearly 2.5, halting the German onslaught after four months. "Never in the field of human conflict," said Winston Churchill, "was so much been owed by so many to so few."
Featured on this DVD is "The Battle of Britain", the epic documentary made by famed director Frank Capra. Also included are seven other films. These include a review of the fleet by the King, newsreels about the fall of France and the Battle at Oran, two films about the V-1 and V-2 rocket weapons, and "Men of Lightship 61", a rarely seen, but intensely moving, propaganda film.
B&W films. Run time: 110 minutes.
